The car that rewrote every rule of performance.
The Porsche 918 Spyder stands alongside the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari as one third of the legendary "Holy Trinity" of hybrid hypercars — and it was the fastest of the three around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, setting a devastating 6:57 lap time that shocked the automotive world.
At its core is a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 derived from the RS Spyder Le Mans prototype, producing 608 horsepower and revving to 9,150 RPM. Two electric motors — one on the front axle, one integrated with the rear-mounted 7-speed PDK transmission — add another 279 horsepower for a combined system output of 887 HP. The front electric motor also provides electric all-wheel drive, giving the 918 traction advantages its rivals can't match.
In pure electric mode, the 918 can cover up to 12 miles silently. At the push of a button, the V8 explodes to life through top-exit exhaust pipes that channel the sound directly upward — a design choice inspired by classic Le Mans prototypes. Only 918 units were produced, making this one of the most significant Porsches ever created.

The top-exit exhausts — directly behind the driver's head — are a visceral nod to Porsche's 917 and 908 race cars. The removable targa roof panels can be stowed in the front trunk, allowing open-air hypercar motoring that neither the P1 nor LaFerrari can offer.
An active rear wing and front air flaps adjust automatically across five aerodynamic configurations depending on driving mode and speed. The Weissach Package — available from the factory — replaces body panels with bare carbon fiber, adds magnesium wheels, and strips 41 kg from the total weight, bringing the Nürburgring time down even further.
Inside, the cockpit blends futuristic digital displays with the classic Porsche center tachometer. The steering wheel features a power flow display showing the hybrid system's real-time energy distribution — a mesmerizing visualization of technology and performance working in perfect harmony.
